I’m Thomas Murphy, a designer and single dad doing my best to raise a creative kid in a loud, messy city.

This newsletter began as Blood & Champagne, my interiors and architecture blog, which took off in the early days of Tumblr and Pinterest. It led to over a million followers, making me one of Pinterest’s first “pinfluencers.”

Since then, I’ve worked across branding, fashion, and internet culture, leading curation on the eBay homepage, collaborating with Google on an early social shopping project called Trendbound, and designing for brands like Wrangler, Lee, Hurley, Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, and Rowing Blazers.

These days, I run artclubartclub, a Brooklyn-based kids’ art program built around studio visits, public art projects, and community collaborations.

This Substack picks up where the blog left off. No fluff, no filler. Just good design, inspiring art, and things worth knowing. Sometimes personal, sometimes practical. Always curious.

I scour the internet, so you don’t have to.

Feel free to contact me with questions, suggestions, comments, and complaints.

Thanks for reading.
